200 years of experience and the clout of an efficiently managed company have made OeSD the reliable partner needed by every country to produce high security ID documents. OeSD develops and implements those security standards in dealing with personalized documents which guarantee certainty in establishing identity and document authenticity beyond any doubt. Intensive research and the further improvement of existing security standards form the basis of the Company’s continued success.
History
In 1804, Emperor Francis I decreed the foundation of the “k. k. Hof- und Staatsdruckerey”. Soon thereafter, the Company had established an excellent reputation as a “University of Graphic Arts”.
1850 – the Company started to produce stamps and thus laid the foundation for its internationally recognized high artistic and printing standards.
1918 – after the collapse of the monarchy, the Court and State Printing House became the Austrian State Printing House.
The year 2000 saw a privatization process, in the course of which OeSD GmbH was acquired by ECP Euro Capital Partners.
2002 Move to the new production site in Vienna’s 23rd district.
2004 was marked by the Company’s Bicentennial Celebration.

On 11 November, 2011, the Holding Company Österreichische Staatsdruckerei Holding AG is listed at the Vienna Stock Exchange
As an Identity Integrator and High Security Printer, the Company today supplies security products to customers on five continents.
