Austrian State Printing House (OeSD) selected for Implementation of Kosovo ePassort Program

The Austrian State Printing House (OeSD), one of Central Europe’s leading identity solution providers, announced its selection by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo for its new ePassport program. OeSD provides the Kosovo authorities with a state-of-the-art solution for the personalization of new electronic passports for Kosovo citizens, including an ICAO compliant PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) solution.

For Kosovo’s two million citizens, electronic passports will be issued for new applications as well as renewals as of October, 2011. OeSD together with Datacard Group will deliver the technological equipment and deploy an issuance personalization solution on site in Kosovo. OeSD will also undertake the training of the staff operating the solution.

The success of this project is attributed to OeSD’s flexibility and unique experience in identity man-agement, in order to respond to the short time frame that was essential for the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This project reinforces OeSD’s efforts in its international expansion strategy.
